Our story
OUR STORY It’s 2020 and the world has been put on hold because of a pandemic. We’ve just lost our jobs and are being told to stay at home. In our little studio flat in East London, David makes his first batch of kimchi and Sara reads up on the gut-brain connection. A week later, David stops making kimchi because the flat smells of farts. Instead, he dives into the Noma cookbook and continues to explore fermentation around the world. Meanwhile, Sara starts thinking not only about what she likes to eat, but also about what’s good for her gut microbes. Six months later, we decide to return to Switzerland and share everything we’ve learnt. WHY RAGI? All our products are vegan, made with organic and seasonal ingredients, and sourced mainly from Switzerland or neighbouring European countries. We are constantly seeking sustainable solutions for our processes and packaging. Did you know you can bring your empty bottles and jars to us or to one of the Ragi retailers? We even reuse them with the label still on! Our products are literally bursting with life. We didn’t want to compromise on taste and nutrition, no matter what challenges that entailed. That’s why you won’t find any pasteurised or filtered products at Ragi. We offer a variety of fermented foods and flavours to help you diversify your gut microbiota in a natural, sustainable and exciting way.
